Dylan had finished his national tour, and was living in Bardstown, KY as a full-time musician. Melanie had just moved back to KY from Saint Augustine, FL and was beginning to pursue a career in music for the first time. Melanie’s Bonus Mom, Mandi, sent Dylan a text on Messenger requesting that he reach out to Melanie regarding “copyright questions.” In hindsight, it can be seen that she was definitely playing Cupid! Dylan was focused on his career, and unfortunately never got the chance to see Mandi’s message. Nevertheless, fate always finds a way…


October 1st, 2022:


Dylan (Jrumma) had just performed at a mud park in Indiana, and Melanie had just won 1st place in “Small Town, Big Heart Idol”. One could say that divine timing was 2AM, because that’s when both musicians returned home and ended up matching on a dating app. After exchanging a few texts, they talked on the phone like teenagers until the sun came up. Dylan invited Melanie to join him for breakfast once Cracker Barrel opened at 7am, and it was there that they had their first date. They parted ways afterwards, but were fated to run into each other again at Walmart that same afternoon. They were both preparing for a family gathering, and they didn’t hesitate to mention each other that day! That evening, Dylan accompanied Melanie to the open mic where she was performing, and as they say…
